Bulimia and its side effects

Bulimia and its side effects

Health

Bulimia Nervosa or commonly called bulimia , is an eating disorder and characterized by the constant shifts in eating habit of a person. Discerning the side effects of over eating, many people try to restrain themselves and control their urge to binge on anything they get their hands on. After a brief period of restricted cravings, these people give in to their culinary desires and indulge in gulping down all the things that they have been craving for so long. After having done so, these people suffer from feeling of guilt and low self esteem. Sometimes the feeling of self hatred is so strong that it leads to depression. Many a times these people try to overcome these feelings and undo the effect of over indulging through vomiting or purging, fasting, the use of laxatives, enemas, diuretics, and over exercising.

The most important character of bulimic person is that they would indulge in over eating at times and when others interrupt them or they suffer from some kind of stomach upset, they completely give up on eating. These cycles may continue from many times in a week to several times in days depending on the intensity of the disorder.
