Neuro Linguistic Programming - How Nlp Can Help You
Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP is an offshoot branch of psychology (psychotherapy) that seeks to master interpersonal (between people) skills as well as intrapersonal (understanding yourself) skills. Learning and using NLP techniques will help you clarify your personal ambitions and desires, determining where you are in respect your desired qualities or experiences, and then constructing a congruent (laser focused) plan, where your beliefs, thoughts and actions become in full alignment with what you want to be, do or have in your life experience. The components of NLP are: Neuro - Relating to our sensory organs Linguistic - Relating to all forms of communication Programming - Learning to send the appropriate signals, and interpret those signals from others It's pioneers are Richard Bandler and John Grinder, and now there are many great NLP Master Trainers (Tad James, Chris Howard, etc) and enthusiastic practitioners that are expanding the field to reach an ever growing audience. In addition to the United States, NLP training is becoming very large in Europe (NLP UK) because of the positive and life changing results that people are experiencing in their lives. Neurolinguistic programming (another variation of the common spelling) includes a lot of hypnosis, body language and cognitive behavior therapy techniques that will help you send the right signals to others, interpret the signals they are sending, and adjust your behavior accordingly to achieve your desired results. NLP is very effective in treating phobias and removing unwanted or negative habits from your subconscious mind by using the "programming" part of NLP. You can use it to create powerful emotional states in yourself or others by connecting a past powerful experience (active visualization) to an anchor (a specific touch or body movement) that you can use later when you need to achieve that state again. For instance, you can remember a time when you felt really powerful and all the right words just flowed easily out of you and when you are at the height of recalling this experience, you would press your thumb against your earlobe and hold it for a couple of seconds. Practice it as much as you can. Then when you have a big speech to make and you feel kind of nervous or like a stuttering Sam, then you fire your anchor (thumb against earlobe) and watch your apprehension melt away like warm butter. You can also use it in your daily life, say for instance when you want to associate a specific trait to yourself and have other people associate that trait to you. To do that you would adopt the type of behavior your body language and posture that someone with those traits would have and then when you say a key phrase (for instance, wealthy) you will make a pointing action towards you at the same time, so when people see you make that pointing behavior again, they will associate it (and you) with the state of being wealthy. There are so many applications you can use NLP for that there are books (even neuro linguistic programming for dummies) as well entire curriculum and courses available to help you master it. It has been very useful in my life, and has helped me overcome some of my own personal demons and now they work for me instead of against me. Want to stop smoking? Break it's state using NLP. I've used it to achieve a greater sense of understanding of others (as well as myself) and also to experience peace and happiness. It is all inside you, and you have the power to stop the "tapes" that are constantly playing in your mind learn to install (like the Matrix) a new program, one that will serve you instead of you serving it. I recommend that you do anything you can to learn it, because it can be one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself, your friends and loved ones (even those you will anchor to yourself). The more you use it consciously, the better we become as a society. By: Wellness Coach
