Nlp And Hr

The human resources department is a vital element of any company or business organization. It is in charge of selecting, hiring, and staffing of employees for the effective delegation of tasks and functions in a firm. This vital role requires a certain degree of care on the part of a human resource manager. Careful attention must be given to selecting the right people, screening applicants, creating job descriptions, filling up job vacancies, and hiring the right person for the job. NLP and NLP Training is a field of study that provides a variety of techniques and methods that help improve many areas of business. It can be used for sales, adminstration and also in human resources management. The job interview is one of the basic tools that the human resources department uses to qualify applicants and determine whether they are fit for the job or position being applied for. Knowledge of NLP techniques is important for a personnel manager or job interviewer. The reason for this is that it is not possible to fully "know" an applicant just by reading a CV or resume. For an HR manager to gain insight regarding the character, values and motivation of an individual, he needs to look beyond the submitted credentials and the words being said by the applicant. Non-verbal communication, or body language, says more about a person than words and credentials combined. Eye contact is one of the areas of body language to watch out for. The popular saying that the "eyes are the window to the soul" holds true in NLP as well. Straight and uninterrupted eye contact often indicates honesty, confidence, and firmness of decision. On the other hand, being shifty eyed, avoiding eye contact, looking at other things while communicating could create lots of negative impressions. It could be a signal of dishonesty, nervousness, lack of self esteem, or untrustworthiness. An HR interviewer should be able to observe how applicants make eye contact to see their level of sincerity, confidence and self worth. Visual accessing cues help an interviewer to get insight regarding the mental activity of a person based on the movement of his eyeballs. For example, if the eyeball of the applicant moves up and to the right, it indicates visual construction (he is constructing mind images). If the eyeball is moving up and to the left, it means that the applicant is forming "visually remembered" images (he is trying to recall images seen in the past). Moving the eyeballs directly to the left means auditory construction, while moving the eyeballs to the right means auditory recall. Moving the eyeballs down and to the left indicates feeling or kinesthetic mental activity. Lastly, moving the eyeballs down and to the right indicates internal dialog (the person is talking to himself). How can an HR manager use visual accessing cues to conduct better job interviews? There are a variety of ways and some are a bit complicated. However, in a fundamental sense, visual accessing cues can be used to detect lying. For example, if a job applicant mentioned that he has a library of self-development books at home (claiming that he is a wide reader), the interviewer can observe if the applicant's eyes are moving up and to the left (left side of the interviewer's point of view). At an NLP training you will notic if the eyeballs are moving that way, it indicates visual construction. Therefore, there is a possibility that the person is lying (but cannot be relayed upon) because he may be forming an imagined picture of a home library full of personal development books.
